Ahoy, maties! It's the 21st of April and the sleepy coastal town of Antonio Bay is preparing for its centennial celebration as a series of mysterious events unfold after an unearthly fog sweeps in. Turns out the town has a curse on it (don't they all?) Blake and his men seek revenge after their boat was deliberately crashed a hundred years ago to prevent a leper colony being established nearby. As the evening festivities get underway, the fog rolls in again and begins to wreak havoc. Stevie Wayne, the town's only disc jockey, uses the power of the airwaves to guide residents to safety. Blake retrieves his gold and after Father Malone loses his head, it's even stevie's :-)
The Fog is another classic from John Carpenter and one of my top 5 films of all time. A ghost story that brings Janet Leigh and Jamie Lee Curtis together on screen (although only for a few minutes) with good atmosphere, scenic locations, and an ominous score. If only we found out why Antonio Bay beats Chicago.

It was recently pointed out to me that this is not the correct location. Stinson Beach, which is a bit south of Pt. Reyes Beach, is the actual location with a curvier shoreline. Since it's a nice view, I'll leave it as a placeholder until I get back to the area.

I was not as thorough back in '11 as I am now and I was in a rush to get to the lighthouse this time, so I don't think I got the exact locations that I know some other people have, but here are some shots anyway.

DeleteSo awesome! My favorite movie... I wish you would had pics of the gas station.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late reply. I guess I missed this one. I actually visited it about a month after you had commented.
DeleteThis is going to be a weird comment, but here goes. For years I have wondered what this one thing is in the refrigerated section, when the guy is sweeping in the convenience store. I have taken the best pictures I can from my telly, but can not make it out and it drives me nuts! I will see if you have an email on the page and I will send it to you. If you knew how many hours I have spent trying to figure this out..lol. xo, Tonya
