The Nanny (1993-1999)

I only watched a few episodes of The Nanny but the theme song is still stuck in my head to this day!  It sums up the premise rather nicely: Queens native Fran Fine becomes a nanny for Broadway producer Maxwell Sheffield's three children.  I instantly recognized the Sheffield townhouse set since it was used on the hilarious but short-lived series The Powers That Be (from future Friends co-creators Marta Kaufmann and David Crane).  Over the course of the series, Maxwell and Fran fall in love, which is a top 5 shark-jumping sitcom scenario.

The Greg Kihn Band - Jeopardy (1983)

The Greg Kihn Band lands the biggest hit of their career with Jeopardy, a song about a relationship on the brink.  The video is one of the earliest I remember seeing on the channel formerly known as MTV.  And being a mere 5 years old, I remember it scaring the crap out of me.  Part zombie movie, part PSA for marriage abstinence, Greg Kihn plays a groom to be having a few last minute doubts as his wedding turns into a nightmare and he's forced to fight off a monster and dodge a congregation of zombies. The song was parodied by Weird Al Yankovic a year after its release.

Jeopardy was filmed in San Francisco, CA

Location: The Churches
Address: 3321 & 3281 16th Street, San Francisco, CA  Mission Dolores & St. Matthew's Lutheran Church

The first church is the Mission Dolores, most famously seen in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo (1958)...

The Church that Greg Kihn enters is St. Matthew's Lutheran Church...

Like Father Like Son (1987)

Kirk Cameron continues to experience Growing Pains (1985-1992) ;-) in this Freaky Friday update from the decade of excess.  A brain transference serum has Jack Hammond and his son Chris switch bodies and wreak havoc on each other's lives.  The search is on for a former Goonies (1985) uncle who holds the key to restoring balance.  If you ask me, Like Father Like Son was the better of the two body swap movies during the Reagan era, but who am I to judge? ;-)

Like Father Like Son was filmed in Los Feliz, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Los Angeles and San Diego, CA

Location: The Hammond House
Address: 3959 Longridge Avenue, Sherman Oaks, CA

More notable for being Kelly Taylor's House from Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990-2000), which is why I had originally visited this location so these are not exactly matching shots.  The house is completely hidden by trees and branches now.  The back of the house is mostly seen in the film...

Location: Trigger's House
Address: 4242 Agnes Avenue, Studio City, CA

This is just a few houses down from Dottie Hinson's house from A League Of Their Own (1992).

Location: The High School
Address: 3939 Tracy Street, Los Feliz, CA  John Marshall High School

This popular filming location has also been seen in Grease (1978), A Nightmare of Elm Street (1984) and Pretty in Pink (1986)

Location: Chris' Track Meet
Address: 17000 Haynes Street, Encino, CA
