Home Alone 2: Lost In New York (1992)

The McAllister's are planning another Christmas vacation, this time to Miami.  Their travel tradition continues as Kevin gets separated from the family.  This time he's not left behind, he just gets on the wrong plane, which is destined for New York City.  He lives it up at The Plaza Hotel in between venturing out into The Big Apple.  In a city of millions, Kevin just happens to run into the two burglars he outsmarted from the first film.  He boobytraps his uncle's vacant townhouse with death- defying pranks before once again being reunited with his family.

Home Alone 2: Lost In New York has a preposterous plot but it's even more preposterous to see Ally Sheedy reduced to playing an under-five ticketing agent!  Despite the recycling, the film made a boat load of money amongst tepid to scathing reviews.  I remember seeing it in the theater and sensing that the magic had worn off but I've warmed up to it over the years and it remains a staple on my Christmas Movie list.
