Sunnyvale is one of the richest and safest towns in America. Nearby Shadyside is considered the murder capital of the country so when there's a massacre at the mall, no one really blinks an eye but they do point fingers at Sara Fier, who was executed in 1666 for witchcraft and cursed the town. A group of teens encounter past killers of Shadside who seem to want Samantha Fraser's blood. A massive showdown occurs at the location supermarket, where Samantha apparently drowned, making the killers disappart. Sam is then revived by her girlfriend, Deena. But there's no escaping Sarah Fier.
The Fear Street film series is based on R.L Stine's book series of the same name. All three parts were filmed back-to-back in 2019 and before debuting on Netflix, was intended for a theatrical release in 2020, but was canceled due to Covid. Horror fans will be pleased with the gore factor and the homages to such slasher classics as Halloween (1978), Friday the 13th (1980), Scream (1996) and I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997).
