Scream (1996) redefined the horror genre and won the bleeding hearts of horror fans around the globe. Set and shot in beautiful northern California on some very secluded properties, getting to actually visit Stu's House was wishful thinking for location afficianados...until now. When the Scream Comes Home event was greenlit in July, it seemed as though Christmas had come early. In addition to visiting the filming locations, fans would actually get to explore the beautiful house inside and out that saw much of the action in the film. It was bound to be a scream, baby!
The Woodsboro Bus Tour
The event kicked off with a bus tour of the filming locations for those who backed the Kickstarter campaign. Casey and Sydney's Houses were initially on the list but ended up not being included which was a real bummer since those are locations you can't see from the street. I first visited the other locations three years ago, but it was still nice to see them again. Fans eagerly gathered outside Taco Bell to board the buses on this bueno dia...

Party At Scene 118
The Main Event - Stu's House. Located on the scenic hillside of Tomales, CA, the house was built in the early 90's. The couple who planned to move in both passed away before construction was completed so the cast and crew of Scream were the first ones to occupy it. The current owners plan to rent out the property for weddings and events.
Filming the final third of the movie took over three weeks of looooong nights to film. T-shirts were made after that said "I Survived Scene 118. However, the shooting script only goes up to scene 115, so there's a little bit of mystery regarding that...

The event was a truly amazing experience. Much thanks to the organizers for making horror fans' dreams come true. Maybe next year there will be a party at Windsor College!
