Patrick Bateman is a Wall Street banker who wants. to. fit. in. To the casual observer, he appears to have it all - a great job, a beautiful fiancé, a sweet pad and a slightly better haircut than Paul Allen. But when the night falls, his loneliness calls. He doesn't want to dance with somebody, he wants to violently murder them, but not before spouting a Billboard Magazine review of some of his favorite albums.
Based on Bret Easton Ellis' 1991 novel, which gives a satirical look at the American Dream, American Psycho was adapted for the screen just like Less Than Zero (1987). It's a nice blend of humor and horror and Christian Bale gives an outstanding performance. And the film really messes with your mind. I could never listen to Hip To Be Square, In Too Deep, Sussudio or The Greatest Love of All quite the same after seeing this movie.
