In the 80s, Salt-N-Peppa paved the way for female rappers. But they didn't see their biggest success until the 90s with the release of their Very Necessary album. The lead single Shoop was their first to crack the top 10 and became their highest charting hit as a group. Whatta Man featuring En Vogue was also a top 10 hit and None of Your Business won the group their first Grammy. In keeping with the sexually-charged lyrics, the video shows the girls lounging on the beach ogling over a multitude of men in between performing choreography that for sure inspired Nomi Malone.
