Parenthood (1989)

Gil Buckman and his siblings are dealing with a wide range of issues with their children, including emotional problems, cognitive development and teen pregnancy.  Even their father has his hands full when their black sheep brother Larry drifts into town with his son.  The Buckman Family braves the hardships and come out the other side better and bigger.

Ron Howard's trials and tribulations of parenting was well-received by moviegoers and critics alike.  Parenthood grossed over 100 million dollars.  Randy Newman scored an Oscar nomination for Best Song while Dianne Wiest earned one for Best Supporting Actress.  The film was twice adapted for television, first in 1990 and more successfully in 2010.
