After an unfortunate zipper incident on prom night, Ted Stroehmann loses touch with his date Mary Jensen. After several years of pining over her, Ted hires private detective Pat Healy to locate Mary. He tracks her down in Miami and ends up falling in love with her too, lying to Ted about Mary's life. But there's even more competition from Mary's friend Tucker, who is also in love with her so much that he feigns a disability. Add Brett Favre and Mary's neighbor's boyfriend to the list of guys who find there's something about Mary. The multiple deceptions are finally unveiled and Mary decides she'll be happiest with Ted.
Quirky comedy directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly, who brought us Dumber and Dumber and Kingpin, delivers another hilarious and raunchy effort with There's Something About Mary. The film was a commercial success, making over seven times its budget and gaining high praises for Cameron Diaz. It is of course remembered for one particular scene involving an alternative to hair gel when you're in a pinch ;-)
