It's been five years since Angela Baker wreaked havoc on Camp Arawak. Now posing as Angela Johnson at Camp Rolling Hills, she handles uncooperative campers by "sending them home." The bloodbath continues as her cover is blown and heads roll like the hills ;-)
Pamela Springsteen, sister of Bruce Springsteen, takes over the role of Angela in the sequel to Sleepaway Camp. Suspense was traded in for... camp in this installment and delivers more laughs than a slasher film should. The location for Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers was Camp Younts, a youth camp which had been abandoned a few years prior to filming in 1987. I joined Paul Slattery of Then & Now Movie Locations on a trek out to the grounds, which has been completely overgrown with vegetation. So if you plan to visit, don't be a moron like me who wore shorts. I was very fortunate to only walk away with a few bug bites and tree branch scrape to the face. It is quite a hike from the main road, which was already a ways from where you can park. This area is known as hunting grounds, so proceed with caution. The pool is still there, but I wouldn't recommend taking a dip. Several of the cabins and buildings have been razed over the years but remnants of a few still remain.
