Pat Benatar - Love Is A Battlefield (1983)

Rocker Pat Benatar is a force to be reckoned with.  She's fierce, she's confident and she could wipe the floor with any Lilith Fair singer (lookin' at you, Jewel).  It's no surprise she ruled the rock category at The Grammys until Tina Turner's resurgence.  In 1983, Pat released Live from Earth, which had two studio tracks on it, one of them being Love Is A Battlefield, one of her most popular hits.  The song was originally written as a ballad but was later reworked with an uptempo beat.

The iconic video for the song is the first to feature dialogue.  Pat's father kicks her out of the house because she's 30 years old! rebellious so Pat heads to the big bad city to work as a not so private dancer.  Tired of being dry humped six ways to Sunday, she leads a rebellion against her gold-toothed pimp and frees her fellow taxi dancers, who share a heartwarming goodbye in the morning light.  Perhaps the video inspired hooker Meg on that episode of The Golden Girls (1985-1992).
