Since The New Edition Story recently aired on BET, I thought it would be an appropriate time to do a few posts on the quintet from Boston. Formed in the late 70s, New Edition came onto the music scene in 1983, making a splash on the R&B charts. Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike and Ralph picked up where The Jackson 5 left off and later influenced a slew of other boy band formations. Their second album, New Edition, achieved crossover success with their hit song "Cool It Now" reaching the top five. Falling under the "Should've Been A Hit" category, My Secret (Didja Gitit Yet?) was another single from the album that received little fanfare. In the music video, the guys hang on Melrose with some honeys before heading to a Laker game. Real live footage was used and Magic Johnson makes a cameo, high-fiving Ralph at the end.
My Secret (Didja Gitit Yet?) was filmed in Los Angeles, CA

The Cowboys and Poodles sign made this location easy to find. It was a popular vintage store in the 80s.
